A Maine Coast Proposal at Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park Joshua & Jessie | Freeport, Maine
There’s something so special about photographing a proposal — the anticipation, the emotion, and the pure joy that unfolds in those fleeting seconds. When Joshua reached out to plan a surprise proposal for Jessie during their getaway to Maine, I knew it was going to be unforgettable. Joshua chose the stunning Wolf’s Neck State Park in Freeport as the backdrop — a hidden gem along the coast with peaceful trails, rocky shores, and sweeping ocean views that made the perfect setting for their story to begin a new chapter.
Joshua and Jessie’s love story began in the heart of New York City, where they first met back in 2001. Over the years, they’ve built a beautiful life together on the Upper West Side, sharing their home with two adorable dogs and a bunny. When Joshua decided it was time to ask Jessie the most important question of his life, he wanted the moment to feel meaningful and serene — something that reflected their connection and love for simple, quiet moments together.
Though they had never been to Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park before, its coastal charm and natural beauty instantly drew them in. As the two explored the trails hand in hand, the late afternoon light spilled through the trees, and the sound of waves echoed softly in the distance. It was there, surrounded by nature’s quiet magic, that Joshua got down on one knee and asked Jessie to spend forever with him.
The look on Jessie’s face said it all — pure surprise, joy, and love. It was one of those moments where time seemed to stand still. After the “yes,” laughter and happy tears followed, along with the sweetest celebration along the water’s edge.
Capturing their proposal was an absolute honor — the kind of story that reminds me why I love what I do. Maine’s rugged coastline, the golden light, and their genuine connection made this day truly unforgettable.
