When Courtney and AJ chose Kettle Cove in Cape Elizabeth, Maine for their engagement session, I knew it was going to be magical. This hidden gem along Maine’s southern coast offers everything—rocky shorelines, sandy paths, grassy dunes, and the most incredible sunsets over the water. A Coastal Love Story We began their session wandering along the winding trails that lead to the cove. The tall grass swayed gently in the ocean breeze while Courtney and AJ laughed together, already falling into that natural rhythm that makes engagement sessions so fun. Their connection was effortless, and it showed in every smile, every glance, every quiet moment they shared. Barefoot by the Ocean As we made our way down to the shoreline, the ocean put on its own show—sparkling under the late summer light. Courtney and AJ kicked off their shoes and walked along the water’s edge, letting the waves roll over their feet. Those candid, carefree moments—the laughter, the splashes, the hugs—are some of my absolute favorites from the evening. Sunset at the Cove We wrapped up the session on the rocky outcroppings that make Kettle Cove so iconic. With the sun dipping low on the horizon, the sky turned into a canvas of pinks, oranges, and gold. Courtney leaned into AJ, her head resting on his shoulder, as the two soaked in the last light of the day. It was the perfect way to end a session that truly reflected who they are—joyful, grounded, and deeply in love. Why Kettle Cove Is Perfect for Engagement Photos For couples looking for a location that combines Maine’s rugged coastline with soft, romantic light, Kettle Cove is a dream. It offers variety—beach, rocks, trails, and wide-open skies—all within a short walk. It’s one of my favorite spots to photograph, especially for couples who love the ocean and want their story captured in a natural, timeless way.
